I was diagnosed with cannatonic depression. I was granted FMLA. DSSLC fired me after being hit bye 18-wheeler while driving to work. And one of their reasons for that termination was not following the rules of FMLA. Despite my repeated attempt of modifying those rules due to the fact that FMLA was based solely on physical illness and NOT mental illness. It has taken me four years to recover, and now that I've done that it's time for me to clean house. The director, assistant director and managers supervisor. Are vile individuals who actions we're very callous and should never be anywhere near a mental health facility. Decency matters, and justice is mandatory

Superbowl Sunday 2021 apprection meal - we cooked the staff a Bar B Que place with chicken, bean, spanish rice and Wisconsin potato salad. Sorry no left overs. Merry Christmas! 2020 To all the hard working DSSLC workers this year and during this pandemic. At first we were greatly under appreciated by some in the community. We were even called names, businesses refused to serve us, insults directed at us and people referred to us as the hot spot. I would like to thank those in the community that supported us and the work we do, when caring for our individuals when others did want to. Im a travel nurse working at DSSLC for the last two years. I wouldnt have worked here for the last two years if this facility wasnt a wonderful place to work. I am a Wisconsinite and it's every Wisconsinites solemn duty to bring the christmas spirit where ever it is needed. I have uploaded some pictures of our decorations. Yes! My jeep has a Christmas tree inside and sometimes I place it ouside my jeep. Thats what we do in Wisconsin. Considering this is Texas, this is actually a really nice pace to work. Sure the placehas it's sour individuals but I can actually say there are some really nice staff working at this facility. I have worked at numerous facilities in Texas and I can actually say this is a place I would come back to work again. Infact I think this is my fourth contract with DSSLC.
