such a great experience! Stumbled upon this place by accident and it was above and beyond our expectations! Killer food and even better drinks our server was the best and we will for sure be back I’d give 6 stars if it was a thing
like
Great, unique flavors, fun atmosphere, fusion-oriented. We ordered the chicken tinga chips, chicken tinga burrito, and shrimp as well as barbacoa taco. The chicken tinga chips were probably our favorite of the night!! Big portion for an appetizer and a lot of chicken. The real star may have been the tortilla chips, which I suspect are made in-kitchen! Chicken tinga burrito was a smaller sized burrito than, say, Chipotle, and was underseasoned. If we had to pick one thing to forgo ordering again, it would be this one. Made great leftovers though and nothing that couldn't be fixed with some salt and chipotle mayo! Barbacoa taco was delicious! The meat was a a bit dry and unlike a lot of fatty barbacoas, but the flavors were PHENOMENAL. Being Korean myself, I can recognize when kimchi is done right, and they know how to make a good kimchi, which can actually be very difficult. The flavors instantly reminded me of home, which I didn't expect to happen at a Mexican restaurant; perhaps Dos Santos can be billed as fusion rather than purely Mexican. No complaints with the shrimp taco. Great habanero aioli, well-fried shrimp. Hibiscus limeade was also excellent. Wish they carried a lemonade version and queso as well! Overall, wonderful experience at this cool, funky little spot. The food is truly fun, unique, and elevated, while the ambiance remains fun and accessible. Will definitely be back to experience the other dishes on the menu and be transported into another flavor dimension.
As a former server and bartender, it pains me to post a review that isn't favorable, especially for a small restaurant, but I cannot recommend this place EVER in good conscious. The ambiance is great. The music makes sense, the food is marginal at best, but the service and demeanor couldn't be worse. My dish tonight was simply inedible [it happens in the best of restaurants], and when the server asked what I thought, I was polite, concise, and extremely diplomatic. The server however, couldn't have been more rude or argumentative. I had to chuckle when she later told me her intent wasn't to \offend\ me. She was professional enough to notify the \general\ manager of the tiny establishment who tried to be so sweet, yet so defensive as she unwittingly informed me my unfortunate experience was all my fault. I did not eat the food. They did not charge me for the dish I couldn't touch which was thoughtful. Moving forward, with a less than pleased customer, staff might want to consider completely accepting polite criticism instead of making excuses or trying to imply or state that customers are wrong. To prove my point, I'm sure they'll post a REBUTTAL.
It's an amazing place with a cool vibe. Food felt little pricey but worth giving a try. We loved their cauliflower burrito and quesidilla.
i love this spot for apps, tacos & patio seating. their poke nachos are so so good and then i usually get baja fish tacos and some chips and guac. their chips are addicting. And really good drinks! I like the palomas
