OMG good. It's 25% occupancy right now. We showed at 430 to a fair line. Did get a table in the first seating. Every one was firm about the 90 minute window, we were done in about 75 with dessert. Now with second floor seating and a beautiful bar! Now the food, amazing as always. Best in Denver, no contest. It's totally worth the wait of you can't be there at opening.

Update: we tipped 30 here and were charged 50. I called Izakaya and they were supposed to call me back to settle it but have not. I imagine it was likely an accident when closing out our check but I’m taking a star off because management should take these kinds of situations seriously and returned my call to settle it (I was told they were going to have someone in their admin office call me back to settle it, a week later, nothing). Disappointing after such a great experience. ️ BEST SUSHI WE HAVE EVER HAD! Holy smokes, this place blew our mind. Totally worth the hype. Every dish we ordered was incredible! And the service was phenomenal, our server Alex was so on it! Impressed also because we came during covid! They have some limited dine in available. We showed up 15 minutes before they opened and got right in.

The most incredibly rude staff from management to wait staff. Average sushi place on the best day. Far better for less with parking and no bad attitude.

Terrible customer experience from Assistant Manager of the restaurant. This restaurant is one of my favorites and has been for many years but tonight it fell very short of my typical expectations. There was a 90 minute time limit on each table which is understandable during the pandemic. However, when time was up, my friend had a few more sips of wine to finish and the assistant manager (short dark red hair) approached our table and very loudly and rudely told us our time was up and we have to leave, following with a loud clap to send home her statement. We were left embarrassed and rushed out as soon as possible. We happened to notice some friends at a table below and walked up for a quick hello on our way out. The assistant manager had followed us and again loudly ushered us out stating, “there’s no “co-mingling”, please leave!”. This is the absolute rudest I have been treated in any restaurant anywhere. As an assistant manager in a customer facing business, you’d think she would have learned some social skills by now. Won’t be returning, I expected more form Izakaya.

izakaya Den has been one of my favorite restaurants for years, and I was having a very nice evening with a friend of mine until the end of our meal. There are a lot of new rules due to covid, which is completely understandable, and the staff was very polite in giving us our instructions for the evening prior to our meal. We had a time limit which I have grown very accustom to as every restaurant is following this protocol, however, when you’re having a nice time and deep in conversation sometimes you lose track of time. We had already finished our meal and closed our tab, but we were still chatting when the assistant manager came over and aggressively told us we needed to leave immediately followed by a loud clap in our faces. Her energy and demeanor disrespectful and repellant which completely ruined the nice evening we had. We stopped our conversation mid-sentence to follow her forceful demand. As we were leaving, we noticed a couple friends who were having dinner near the exit, we stopped to briefly say “hi” until the same assistant manager, who had chased us downstairs, stomped over to yell at us we needed to leave immediately as there is “no co-mingling!!!”. The rule itself is completely understandable, and I get that they want to follow all the rules as to not get in trouble or shut down during these times, but we did not know of this rule and felt attacked by her aggressive demeanor, embarrassed in front of our friends and made us never want to come back. You can strictly enforce rules, without treating your paying customers like garbage. Whoever hired or promoted this woman needs to reevaluate their decision. I genuinely feel awful for the employees having a service industry past myself, I would never want to work for someone like this and genuinely hope I never will see this lady again.
