I chose Mandy after searching for weeks for someone to care for my 9 month old. I felt she had a lovely environment, took the children on outings, had a great outdoor area and seemed to be everything what I was looking for. After a few weeks Mandy started to seem very stressed as my little baby was still not fully settled to the point she once told me my baby was ‘awful’ to look after which was very upsetting to hear, especially after him being a ‘lockdown’ baby and not used to being with new people. I overlooked this issue, as well as a few others problems (feeding my allergic baby dairy products and not fastening his seat belt properly) as she reassured me. After 5 weeks of him attending she out of the blue told me she was no longer willing to care for him and I would need to find somewhere else ASAP as he was ‘too unsettled, cries all the time, to needy so she can’t do many activities with others and just too much hard work’ As you can imagine I was very upset and hurt as I put my trust in her to care for my baby. Mandy did not ever ask me any calming/soothing strategises I use at home with him such as a blanket nor did she ever indicate she couldn’t cope. She was the first professional to care for him and I will always remember it as a hurtful and has made me feel really worried about finding him care for the future. I can imagine she is good with older children but I would not recommend if your looking for childcare for you baby, especially if you work and need reliability and stability.
