Coach Florian is a dedicated and motivating rowing coach. My middle school son has shown interest in many sports, but his experience in learning to row is the only sport where he has a smile on his face after every single practice. Coach Florian encourages and challenges my son to do the best he can, all while infusing their sessions with a sense of humor. Coach’s love of rowing is clear, and we are lucky to have him teaching in such close proximity to where we live. This is definItely a hidden gem in Derby, and we would highly recommend Star Rowing center to anyone.

Florian is an experienced excellent couch. The rowing facility is clean and adheres to all the COVID protocols. The water is wide and flat. Highly recommended this site for a fantastic rowing experience.
Coach Florian was kind enough to let me sub in last minute in a quad at Star rowing. I had an amazing morning rowing on the beautiful Housatonic River in Derby. Florian is a great coach who has the ability to meet you where you are in your rowing journey and bring out the best in you. Highly recommended.
The Star rowing center is located on a beautiful body of water. Florian is a dedicated and amazing coach. I benefitted a great deal from the private lesson with him!
STAR Rowing LLC is a new kid on the block of rowing, but do not be fooled.The coaching of Florian Tudor and Dorina Tudor, the Romanian couple who coached in the US for many years and before that earned a swag of medals Internationally in regattas, Nationals and Worlds is amazing! The location of the boathouse on the Housatonic river, with it's width and pastoral views is incomparable, where you get to row for miles or rather kilometers, practicing or racing. The boathouse is small but with big plans and ambitions.Give them a try!I did and loved it!.

Had a great row with Florian and the ladies. Lots of options here to learn, practice or race. Florian has a lot of experience coaching and racing himself.
