James Moylan and Design Builders built a beautiful screen porch and deck for us 9 years ago that exceeded 50k. The problem is that the second story deck was built on 14 posts that rotted through and needed to be replaced. James would not accept any responsibility for replacing the posts. He claimed it was the manufacturer’s fault. Our incredible porch was literally built on a faulty - and dangerous - foundation. We ended up paying another company to replace all the posts. My problem with James and Design Builders is that they wouldn’t even consider doing this work at all - not even for a fair price . The contract states that they aren’t accountable but that they will repair at a fair price. Beware - he told me that “we are unable to perform this work for you” and wouldn’t return any follow up emails or phone calls. I would never recommend this company.
