Despite being overworked these humans take excellent care of the rescues & work incredibly hard to find a home for them! We rescued our beloved Arno (formerly Elf) here & he was fixed, chipped & well cared for. They sent us home from an adoption event with an information packet/guide, meds, food, toys, a leash & harness! You can tell they care very much about these animals & are doing everything they can for them. Excellent place to rescue a pet or donate supplies or money to!

Great place to find the right dog to add to your family. Very helpful and informative staff and volunteers. You can tell they really care about their animals.
I had to wait outside for a bit, covid 19 . Staff was helpful and friendly. I paid 0 for my dog tags. Thanks Detroit Animal Care.
The shelter is amazing. The staff and volunteers go above and beyond to give every dog what they need and they are even working on Christmas to try to place dogs and cats to a nice warm home. They are to be commended on their hard work!
I got a dog named Kewpee about a yr ago. Shes the best thing that ever happen to our family. Im so grateful for her havn a micro chip n shots. I only pay 18 a month for heartworm pill so she dont get it. Kewpee was extremely happy when she came home, she loves us as much as we love her. Ty so much for being the ppl u are that care about dogs. You guys are doin a great job. Ty again for the furry love of my life
