Great hike through old growth. Marion and Gatch falls trail is a little tough to spot and has a lot of blow down. It's pretty steep and slippery when you get to that part too, but well worth it! I only ran into a couple of people when I went early on a Sunday.

Icy and the bathrooms smelled like old dook. Overall 3 stars, only made it to the first lake because of large fresh animal tracks and steep.
This was supposed to the apex of our outting, but it was extremely disappointing. Why you ask? The trail is completely impassable. The trail has not been cleared in many months if not years! This should be a delightful trail, but it ends up being a total failure. There are tree branches littering the entire path and it isn't in one area. We tried getting through going over entire trees in the path. What gives? Where are the cleaning crews that are responsible for this area. My recommendation, check with the local ranger station before heading out on this disaster! What a disappointment!!!
Great place to hike loved the secret waterfall trail
Hiked here on a Saturday afternoon. Parking was full. Surprising for such a remote location. Luckily a car was leaving as we arrived. Several parked cars had citations. Apparently, a northwest recreation pass is required (5 online). There's a restroom at the trailhead. It's a 3 mile gradual ascent to Marion Lake. Beautiful old growth. The trail is now clear of fallen trees. Few people were on the trail. Turns out this area is popular for backpacking, which explains all of the cars. No mosquitos. Horses allowed on trail. The lake was beautiful. There's a day use area with a small beach (no tables or restrooms) and a view of Three-fingered Jack. If you want to see the waterfalls, do some research for the trail. We couldn't find it. We didn't end up getting a citation. Perhaps it's required for overnight parking?
