It's a beautiful building with awesome architecture. I'm ecstatic that Ford motor company has purchased the building and is currently restoring and remodeling The Michigan Central train depot. I talked to a on site Security Guard (who BTW was very friendly and helpful, he had such a affable character) who told me that FOMOCO is planning on turning it into a shopping center and office rental facility.

Awesome historical building! Glad to see that this building is finally going to be restored
One has to see this building. It seems it’s in the middle of nowhere to be a train station but it’s magnificent architecture in a scale that is grand even for the times. I hope it’s restored in a respectful way so that it will be as grand as it was. I always wonder why buildings like this outlive their usefulness and are abandoned. But this is Detroit full of buildings with similar fates.
I remember taking trains out of here up until it closed in 1988. Now that Ford has it, I'm content in knowing it is being restored. A must-see on any architectural tour of Detroit.
Awesome tour inside central train station! We waited about an hour to get into the station, but it was well worth it. A great piece of Michigan history that I’m am glad I got to experience inside. Excited to see what Ford is going to do with it
