I hired this lawyer March of 2016. To represent in me and my spouse is another matter. I was very specific in the meeting before Payment was made that I wanted to be kept informed throughout the matter as payer of the issue. They were the first civil attorney I ever paid. She is currently representing my spouse in a divorce I filed in March of 2020. Yeah that’s where I’m at. Conflict motion is pending. Plenty of factual email evidence. There’s a very in depth paper trail. I have no problem covering attorney fee requests. As long as there not from former council that did not give written consent l. There’s others issues but I’m here for public knowledge.

I am working with Judy and I can’t say enough good things about her. You want someone smart and knows her stuff...contact Judy. She fought for me and continues to do so. I feel very secure with Judy as my lawyer.
Judy Devrient was my divorce attorney and it was a terrible experience. I was in my early 20’s and didn’t know the difference between a good or bad attorney. My case shouldn’t have lasted as long as it did considering very little to no assets. She showed very little concern for the emotional and mental abuse that my ex was putting through by convincing me to lift the emergency order of protection I had against him in order to get the divorce process one step closer. That was one of the worst mistakes I ever made. The harassment from him that entire year and thereafter was traumatizing. I know there are attorneys who are genuine and who will truly be their clients advocate however that was not my experience with Judy DeVriendt.
Terrible attorney. Lied to client about court dates being cancelled and that you don’t need to show up because the judge isn’t available, but that isn’t the true, the judge was available and working cases that day. It’s a plot to get cases continued, ultimately another way for the attorney to delay the divorce process and to steal more money! Lies about correspondence when you provide updated information (address, email address, phone number) so she and opposing counsel can claim you were notified. The office has terrible records and record keeping practices. Proof I’ve received other individuals invoices and was billed for hearings and other services that weren’t on the court calendar or ever filed with the court as promised (paid for). Forwards client confidential email correspondence to opposing counsel. Proof when you receive a re-forwarded email back from opposing counsel with the original context you sent to the attorney (and then they lie about it). Absolutely terrible and unethical. Seeing options for legal recourse as firm should be investigated!
So far do good. Experience costs a lot. They have DEFINITELY had my best interest at heart
