The early adopters AR, as a marketing medium, will receive the added bonus of turning it’s printed media like brochures, newspaper/magazine ads, or business cards, into conversation pieces, greatly increasing its reach and performance. The 2018 report on AR Marketing (BCG Marketing Executive Benchmarking Study) shows that 68% of business executives currently not using AR as a marketing medium and definitely considering it. Also, 77% of consumers stated that they would prefer an AR ad to a flat 2D ad. Hong Kong Airlines divulged their analysis on a set of advertisements released in 2D Only, and in AR “Viewable” mediums. It reported that their AR ads had 9X more viewing time and were 28X more effective (using their internal analysis tools). These numbers are in line with both 3rd-party market analysis and AR/VR industry predictions.
