Best Place to visit, Digboi - Oldest refinery in Asia is located in the Tinsukia district of Assam. It is considered to be the birthplace of the Oil Industry in India. Rickshaw is the main mode of transport within the city. Digboi has a well-developed infrastructure and a number of bungalows unique to the town. It has eighteen holes golf course as part of the Digboi Club.The lake is very serene. The garden and the small bridge over the lake ...too good. Loved it every time I went there,Nice place to visit with families and friends especially in the afternoon to have some relaxed moments, boating,taking fresh air in the Oil town.Nicely built and maintained park. Gives you the famous photographic moments from the bridge with reflection of the oldest refinery. Fast food stall is also good. Momo is a must try.Known as the “Oil City of Assam”, Digboi has been discovered during the 19th century. Rumoured to have been named after the phrase "dig-boy-dig," where the English men used to command the labourers to dig for the crude oil underneath, Digboi had established its 1st oil refinery in the year 1901. The city has Asia’s 1st drilled oil well, which is quite a popular tourist attraction in Assam. Digboi happens to be one of the must visit places in North East India.
