I grew up around this lake. The siberian duck and the siberian stork once flocked this lake and it's irrated fields a good fish picking spot for different kind of migratory birds. After the lake was cleared of its wilderness the birds left and never came back. Today it is a big fishery pond yielding varieties of big fishes. The lake was the Seventh lake dugged by the Kachari king Dima, who ruled the erstwhile Dimasa kingdom and as legend have it, unfold the story of a wonderful Nagi woman marrying Dimasa ruler in her early years only to move away to Mon with her lover her comrade her husband the king. She lived there the rest of her life becoming the charm the love and peace of everyone. And my parents would narrate that this woman was the last queen of the Dimasa kingdom. People living there named the place Naginimora in her memory, meaning NaginiNagi queen; moradeath. The story behind this lake is a telltale of the vivid past and rings rich historical significance to finding some of the early hidden events and development for sheer purpose of preservation and promotion.
