I went there for my initial appointment with Janel Cubbage to simply get a feel for whom could be my potential on-going therapist. I personally felt zero comfortability with her, therefore I did not intend to make any additional appointments with her. Months later, when trying to make an appointment with another therapist in the company, I find out that I'm being charged several "no-show" fees for appointments with Janel Cubbage that were never agreed to. It's very interesting how mental health is pushed to be a high priority, but when you take the steps to actively fix it, the ones who are supposed to help you are the same ones that seem screw you over. It's a shame.

I had a wonderful therapist who I made a real connection with. 4 weeks after the initial appointment I receive notice that they made an administrative error and cannot take my insurance. My option was to pay out of pocket or stop going altogether. I would have never made an appointment if I knew my insurance wasn't accepted. I understand this was a mistake they probably will never make again, but as someone who was seeking therapy its devastating to forge a connection with a therapist only to have to abruptly stop for their administrative mistake.

Shanna a good listener and helps me in many ways. Her natural empathy gives me confidence to share anything on my mind and instills trust that I'm truly being heard. She gives feedback relative to my specific situations. In addition, I have been a client over the past 10 years, on and off in difficult seasons in my life. I have received nothing but excellent care. Her and the practice go above and beyond to help in any wsy possible. Professional, Top Notch therapists! Anyone who states the contrary to receiving ‘less than’ care is RIDICULOUS! Highly recommend.

I am writing this review not as a patient of Discover Yourself Wellness, but as a very good friend of a patient. My friend and her family recently experienced a significant tragedy and were in need of help. My friend asked me if I could recommend a therapist and through a colleague I was able to point her to DYW. My friend has been very happy with Shanna and the NP. Because of this comprehensive care she is able to receive talk therapy as well as the medication she needs. I am happy my friend (and her family) is getting help at DYW.

All the other psychiatrists I’ve been to treated me like a robot or were basically glorified drug dealers. But Jennifer is easily the best one I’ve ever dealt with, she feels more like a friend trying to help me out than someone just prescribing meds, not to mention she’s outlandishly hilarious lol.
