The spinal medulla harbors the nervous system and receives every electric impulse translated by the the senses and enables its flow to the brain, who interprates them and responds through motor reactions. These messages are distributed by the cord through thousands of nervous pathways to the muscles. Thus, Médula is presented as a multidisciplinary design studio: Architecture, Graphic Communication, Interaction Design and Data Visualization, where ideas of each of its members, are discussed between them and respond to each issue with design proposals raised as solution to a given stimulus.This solutions use new technologies to meet both personal curiosities and contemporary world needs, resulting in turn in experience for the customer, the user, the viewer. New technologies stands for design, what the spinal cord represents to the human body. As a Mexican based studio with international collaborations, we are in search of this great Mexican identity that is being generated every day and is part of a global identity. Our research has resulted in several projects in architecture, graphic identity, interactive installations and interactive data visualizations. Each of the Médula members comes from different fields of design and engineering and this is why we provide a comprehensive solution in different media, for each project.
