Food is fantastic. Flavors and portions sizes are great. Definitely order a monfongo while you eat there. Service is pretty good and did not have to wait.

The food was excellent! I had the Paella for dinner and a flan/cake for dessert. The paella was loaded with muscles, clams, octopus, shrimp, crab, lobster, etc. Every member of the wait staff checked in on me at least once during the experience. It was a little awkward not realizing I wasn't going to get a final check. After awhile I just went up to the register and discovered that actually appeared to be the normal process. Good to know for next time! There will be a next time because there is so much more I want to taste.

This restaurant gets one stars for the long wait (45 minutes) that a party of two had to wait for. The food will get 2 Stars, the mofongo I had taste burnt like the bottom of a burnt pot and the steak was so so very salty. However empanadas was delicious.

Can't deny this is the best! The Mofongo I ordered was amazing! The place looks so clean and neat and the staff is very friendly.

Seated quickly, half of the items on the menu were not available. Food came within reasonable time but was seriously lacking. I ordered the Mofongos w/ pork and chicken. Pork was way overcooked and the chicken was under done. The plantain mixture was a bit off, but not bad. My wife ordered a rice dish which was good all around. We were not checked on once during the meal, I would have sent the dish back otherwise. It took close to 10 minutes to receive a box for the rice dish, which indeed, was great. The poor service ruined the entire expierence as we were on a schedule.

Great food. Large proportions. Friendly staff. Free close parking. Deli style food ready for pick up and go or eat in.

If you are looking for a good mofongo, this is a good place in the upper Midwest. It had the right amount of garlic and the plantains were not ripe. However, I was disappointed that the mofongo did not contain any chicharron or pieces of fried pork. The fried chicken was seasoned properly and the batter was not too thick. Next time I'm in Rochester, I will be sure to visit here again and try another one of their plates.

I will preface this by saying that I've never had Dominican food until trying D'Mangu, I'm a huge fan of Hispanic food in general, though. I regret waiting as long as I did because it was fantastic! I had pork that was made in this sauce that was out of this world. Very sweet and savory. I'm so glad my SO talked me into trying it. I will be a regular for sure. Oh, and 2 dinners didn't break the bank and I managed to get so full it hurt to breathe. The value to flavor ratio is off the charts. I'll be back!
