Worked there for 3 years through an agency I worked for for 13 years, only to get suspended by allegations of an assault on a service user a year after the alleged incident? Some staff are great but some junior nurses/assistants are looking out for only themselves. The straw that broke the camel's back was when a service user, in restraint went to bite a member of staff, I got sent home for unnessary restraint? Glad to be well out of it. Avoid Cheswold like the plague?

Worst nine years of my life! Management is beyond a joke, the food is the worst it's ever been and patients are made to feel like they are there to be punished. With the exception of a few decent staff members, Cheswold Park Hospital is an absolute disgrace. And that is an opinion shared by both staff and patients. Putting it simply, there is a reason that over 40 staff handed in there notice in ONE month. Enough said.

Terrible management system. To say it’s a mental health hospital, they don’t support staffs mental health issues. They will also literally employ anyone. They sack people for being late more than they sack people who continuously display behaviours that are seen as professional misconduct. Lack of respect for ward level staff (excluding ward managers), too much focus on the negative rather than the positive, and also hardly any focus on team work in some areas, in some cases, the badly run wards had no team work at all. There was favouritism and discrimination on some wards. Psychology staff, occupational therapy staff, nursing and support staff work very well. It’s a shame the management teams aren’t as good.

Having been on my first week of indunction i can honestly say what a wonderful place to work in, the training and preparation is second to none, the patients and staff are absolutely wonderful, the facilities on offer are fantastic with lifeskills in mind to bring out the very best in you for both patients and staff, i am proud to be able to uphold cph core values, i believe what cheswold hospital will go from strength to strength with the real dedication of its staff from the very top departments down on to its wards and the many wonderful people who have a real drive and a true sense of understanding of the needs of an individual and most important a development of the very worth of everybody.
