ASED exists to make a difference in the lives of orphans, street children and young people from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds resident in Douala, Cameroon, through the means of football. Through football and a holistic package of training we divert young Cameroonians from a potential life of crime, teenage pregnancy, substance abuse, illiteracy and poverty allowing them to become empowered, productive, responsible national citizens and ultimately global citizens, therefore reducing their permanent wish for emigration. ASED has set up the SECAM project (Sport, School, Arts and Job). Our Training Center provides opportunities to all youths to learn football at a higher level, to organize their studies and prepare to follow up for those who are not going to school and who may not succeed as footballers, through on-job training. ASED was incorporated as a charity in December 2005 in Cameroon and October 2008 in the USA (file 801042864).
