Built in the late 1700s, what is currently The Old State House Museum in Dover was once the Capitol Building. This grand building is open to visitors who wish to tour the beautiful rooms and admire the Middle Georgian architecture. The building is now on the National List of Historic Places and displays many artifacts and documents.

Note: Covid restrictions made my visit less enjoyable than it otherwise could have been. I was only able to go into the lower floor to see the courtroom. The upper floors (legislature rooms) were off-limits. They played a short video and gave a short description of the courtroom and basic Dover history. It was over in about 15 minutes. But hey, at least it was free.
Great tour. Tons of interesting information in a beautiful setting. Well worth the time!
Knowledgeable staff and really cool history with the building itself and the surrounding area. Definitely worth a stop if your a history buff like myself.
This place is worth visiting. It is maintained very well. A lot of history to be seen.
