Dragon MMA Academy is a top notch school. I enrolled my grand daughter here a few months ago and she LOVES it! As a former martial arts instructor myself, I can say the staff here are very knowledgeable in the style of martial arts they are teaching. I just had to write a positive review of a place that has become a second home for my sweet little girl: Dragon MMA Academy. When identifying a single phrase to describe my experience with Master John and Sifu Lisa, my mind inevitably concludes that they is “a martial arts blessing.” Here is our story: When my high energy, precocious, shy daughter was 3.5 years of age, she lost interest in gymnastics. We thought martial arts would be a great way to learn discipline, respect, body awareness, self-confidence, and social/emotional skills. We went to many studios and my daughter just clung to me and did not feel comfortable. We also noticed that the older student’s skills were not as well rounded or lacked a passion for their sport. We found Dragon MMA via a google search. We observed a class. The moment we sat down to watch, my sweet daughter was different. She sat next to me in a chair and when they asked her if she wanted to join the class, she said “yes.” My husband and I were pleasantly surprised. She went in, loved it, and we have been there ever since. The students are respectful, take care of each other and are passionate for their sport. Master John and Sifu Lisa teach a variety of martial arts styles and help develop the student’s individual talents, teach discipline while honoring who they are. My daughter truly feels that Master John and Sifu Lisa are like family to her and LOVES being there. She had learned a great deal from her Dragon MMA family both about Kung Fu and about herself. I cannot recommend them enough as a mother and school psychologist.
I have reffered many people to go here. I also being involved in the martial arts as a child I too, have seen the amazing kids of Dragon MMA perform at tournaments and other events. There is no one like Dragon MMA Academy. The instructors are incredible. I have seen how they teach the kids and seen the results of their training. The kids are phenomenal.
This school and their instructors have done wonderful things for my 2 grandsons. They have also volunteered in the community and have been wonderful influence on the kids. My grandson is 5 and has already won several tournaments and I have seen a remarkable improvement in his respect and self control. My other grand son is 3 and master John and sifu Lisa has even made him calm and I feel confident about him attending preschool this fall. If you are interested in martial arts or a great way for your child to feel great about themselves and learn self defense. There is no better place in the community.
We joined Dragon MMA in 2014 when my son was 3. Master John and Sifu Lisa are not only knowledgeable and passionate about martial arts but they are also just as devoted to their students personally. Their students aren’t just a paycheck they genuinely care. The students at Dragon as well as the instructors make it an amazing extended family. I wouldn’t dream of my kids learning anywhere else!
