Forge Studio is a rare and special café and gift shop - definitely worth a visit. It has a nice relaxing atmosphere, serving good food and a selection of cold and hot drinks. Andy paints a range of canal related gifts and souvenirs, including customised versions - just ask. Located in a quiet spot, on the canal, this is a great place to visit and relax. Andy is a nice and friendly guy, with a huge knowledge of the canals and boats.

The Forge studio at Dunhampstead is one of those traditional places which are sadly disappearing from our fast food society. The proprietor Andy has captured the essence of traditional canal life. His hand painted canal ware is beautiful, whether its a simple painted mug, or a coal scuttle with roses and castles. As for the scrumptious hot buttered teacakes, with a cup of tea is simply wonderful. He also has cream tea's with delicious clotted cream for those who want a treat, and aren't watching our figures. There are many other scrumptious delights to tempt the hungry traveler. The Forge Studio is well worth a visit, even if your not hungry, Andy's knowledge of canal life and boating is second to none, you will have a wonderful experience, even if you don't have one of those delicious teacakes.

Beautifull place with a little tea room aswell,I'm on a livery yard just up the road, and the walk to the little boat yard is beautifull and the canal route is lovely, this little shop is well worth a stop at if you are sailing the canals,or walking that way...do check it's opening hours with covid though but well worth a visit when it's open
