I’d give them more stars if possible. I found these guys by chance while searching to buy a Lab puppy. I talked to Brian a few times and he didn’t have a litter available (or coming) so he referred me to another breeder. That breeder was great too. But onto this review. Kyle is the lead trainer. Great guy, straight shooter. Neither of them will make you any promises but will listen to what you’re trying to accomplish and tailor the training to accomplish it. My black lab was with them for 3.5 months for obedience training. It was originally for 3 months but we extended because of holiday travel and they accommodated it without issue. We also did in-home training with Kyle where our dog, along with 2-3 others stayed and trained in his home. It was very well worth it. The results they delivered are amazing. I can do everything I want with my dog that I wanted to get from training. The obvious listening and obeying, but so much more. I can go leashless with him and he returns to my side immediately when called. Most impressive is that lab bad behavior is not present anymore. He left us as a chewer puppy and came back without that habit. Our guy will be just a family dog, not a hunter, and has free reign of the house at night. He’s been home for 1 month, and has been perfect. Some of that chewing might be dog specific but Kyle recommended two types of toys for my dog that he recognized took his attention while he was training him. I credit him with that for sure. Overall, extremely pleased with the training and process. You shouldn’t hesitate to let them train your dog. ️️️️️️

Our dog had an amazing journey with Brian and his awesome facility. A wonderful trainer with the knowledge and patience, he will take your dog and you wherever you want to go. It's hard to put into words how meaningful this experience was for our dog.

We were so pleased. Our dog went for obedience. He came home so well behaved and much more manageable with commands.

We are very excited to have found Duck Dog Training. I am not a duck hunter so my review is geared more towards the obedience training. Kyle has been our trainer for most of our dogs for obedience as well as training a few dogs of ours for duck hunting. We have have taken our companion dog there as well for obedience training and we are VERY VERY PLEASED with the training our dogs have received. We have taken our dogs to visit and they are happy to see the trainers again. Kyle is very patient and gentle with the training. Our dogs listen and act on our command now instead of their own. Thanks Bryan and Kyle for giving us a happy home and not so chaotic anymore.

I've been told that you can tell a duck hunter's age by the number of labs he has owned. I recently purchased my 6th lab, which tells you everything you need to know. I trained my first 5 labs with varying success. After considerable research, I purchased #6 from Brian Johnson at Duck Dog Trainer. My new dog is 1 and 1/2 years old and already my best duck dog. If you are looking for a professionally trained dog with a good blood line and an honest appraisal of where the dog is in his development, I highly suggest you contact Brian Johnson in Winnie, Texas.
