Nice campanile and witness of Spanish culture in Dumaguete. A pleasure to see that some authorities try to keep memory of their history. Just aside of the cathedral. If you visit Dumaguete watch both is a must.

Beautiful watchtower. It stand through times.
Just standing beside the bell tower makes you feel like you've gone back to history! A very nice structure and historical view indeed.
I'm a sinner but still I'm happy and blessed to feel my HIS presence in this place. People might have seen this place as a tourist spot but if you'll got the chance to light a candle and say a little prayer then you'll feel a hand tapping on your shoulder which could make you go through your journey with a peaceful mind and an open heart.
Nice place to rest. In the evening there's also music or bands playing, people are dancing and have fun.
Very accessible from any point in the city. was built upon one of the four original massive watchtowers that parish priest Don Jose Manuel Fernandez de Septien built in the 1760s to discourage Moros from pillaging the town. The two layers, which are now known as the bell tower or the campanario, were added during the administration of Fray Juan Felix dela Encarnacion in 1867. -
This area makes me nostalgic of a past I could only imagine. Whenever I am in the city, we never miss to visit this place and the church beside it. The bell tower and the rocks used to built it are true witnesses of the passing of time and lives loss and renewed. This is richly historic. I could not.imagine Dumaguete City without it.
Gladly, the City Government is taking care of the cleanliness of the area.
