Fantastic location to get away from people. This state-owned property charges to park and to ride the ferry, but it's well worth it. The hiking trail is wonderful, but watch for rattlesnakes! Lots of nature during the novice 2.5 mile hike. Or just enjoy the beach if hiking isn't your thing. Only downside is this is not really handicap friendly.

Very nice beach and is a must see for a visit here to the Tampa area. The only downside is the expense, it is 8 per car (for 2-6 people) and 16 per person for a round trip ferry ticket. For a beach trip for 2 prepare to pay 40, 5 star beach at a three star price.

Wonderful experience! Was the first group on the beach from the Ferry, which left at 9am. Arrived first and was able to get amazing shells. Only negative of getting there early was the kayak and concession people don't come over until 10:30ish. We went kayaking and looked at shells. Kayaking was definitely moderate to difficult level. If you are claustrophobic I would not suggest it. Saw a sting ray and many crabs along the way along with lots of birds! In addition, please note the cost. We paid 8 for the car to park at Honeymoon Island (cash), 16 a person to go on the Ferry (card), and 35 a person to kayak (card).

Beautiful park in native Florida State. Pristine white sand beaches and nature trails to hike that showcase Florida's natural beauty.

The most beautiful, peaceful, and clean beach I have visited throughout my travels so far. Jerry, the Ferryboat tour guide, was extremely passionate about the wildlife and environment, and everyone who ran the state park were very nice and knowledgeable. Definitely a local gem that I have to visit again.
