A sublime place. A fabulous choice for a family day out. You'll need lots of time to see everything here. Leave several hours at least.. Staff friendly and efficient, lots of great information about the plants and trees as you explore. Scenery is stunningly beautiful.

Astounding sensory overload! Beautiful, great way to spend an autumn afternoon. Easy paths and more adventurous ones too. Dog friendly. Trees seem to be of worldwide origin. Also very tame Robins eat out your hand. That was awesome :)

Go for the Redwood Avenue. Stay for the Victorian Fernery. Enjoy the red squirrels. Big trees. Good views. Quiet surroundings. Tasty cafe. Worth a visit on good and bad weather days.

This is a bit of a hidden gem. I visit once a year and every time it just gets better. You can spend a good 4/5 hours wandering around the gardens. It’s located 15 minute drive from Dunoon or you can go around the Rest and be Thankful road from Glasgow which is about 2.5 hours.

What a lovely surprise! Reasonably priced and we expected a short loop with perhaps a greenhouse, similar to Dundee/Edinburgh Botanics, but Benmore Botanics are huge! It felt like a truly restful place to visit and somewhere we could come again and again and discover something new each time. There are different paths with detailed map, some routes are steep but there is a lovely long route accessible by wheelchair or with a buggy/pushchair. We were also delighted our dog could join us if he remained on the lead. Enjoy watching for red squirrels, feeling dwarfed by the giant redwoods, or seeing the incredible views from the top of the climbs. A great day for the whole family and would highly recommend.
