Wow! Everyone one should go to our beloved RTO once in a lifetime. With handful employees thronged by hundreds of applicants everyday, this transport office functions so smoothly like a brand new V4 engine. I stood in the scorching sun, awed by their functioning I stood there for 2 & 1/2 hours. Getting a Driver's License is an entire day trip folks. I understand our 3 starred officer's had other duties but I got my 10:30 appointment called at 1. All in all would highly recommend.
When you are a first time visitor, do explain your problem in detail to any of the agents who have setup tables outside the compound ,they understand and directly lead to the right person, keep a little patience and do produce the documents required by office personnel with minimum errors, if it's your day the work would get done for sure be calm while expressing the problems to rto personnel and do cross question the requirement on the spot to regret any future errors. Remember good and bad people are everywhere, it depends on how you play the cards to get 'YOUR' work done!
Government organisation with high volume output. They clear the cases fast if everything is in order and all documents are available. Too many agents on the road, ready to help in processing any application. Waiting time is high, most of field work happens post lunch. First half mostly in office documentation and internal process. Every type of application and window has defined times and days. Rules are non negotiable.
The officers will make you go from one window to another window. Transfer of vehicle within the same rto without agent takes min 1.5 hrs even if you have all documents with you with 5 people in each queue. You have to pass around 5-6 windows to complete the process. But things get done if you have patience and your documentation is correct and vehicle seller or purchaser are present there because even if one paper missing need to get with signature of stake holder
Quick and fast. The best way to get anything done there is via an agent who have their one bench offices right outside the RTO building. My personal experience says get an agent to do the work otherwise one ends up wasting one to two days to get the simplest of things done.
Everything was going good. I was their to collect my RC book which was returned to RTO. Their should be a queue management. Parkings are done in no parking only, don't worry about toeing, go rich early to get your work done fast, you may ask for help from anyone with lots of paper with them (vendors) they know everything about. Quite good experience, even after doing lots of magazmaari they said RC will be again delivered by post which was in his hand . And if you are going for RC book go to counter no. 18 .
Just like any other govt office but seemingly little more unorganized for a common man like me.. may be an agent would find it easier to deal due to his/her frequent visits...
