We bought a new build home with this builder in Eagle, ID. We were provided with a blueprint of the house, but for Core, a blueprint must not mean much, since they skip items listed for the build. When asked about it, you get a response such as "oh, that's just an artist rendering". Really.....a missing soap niche in a shower is an artist rendering? It really would be nice to have a place to put your soap/shampoo/etc in your new shower! They installed a fence on one side of us......still no gate. The fence hasn't been installed on the other side of us due to new construction. I can understand that......but they did collect 500 CASH for a gate on that side of the house for when the fence is finished being built. Yep, guess you only get one gate. Since we have a lake in the back....liability must not mean much. We've had other items in our brand new home that are broken or just never were installed in the first place. Such as a locking mechanism on a bathroom door. Who really needs to lock a bathroom anyway, right? And the hole in the door is just perfect for privacy.....ummmm....no. Trying to get someone from Core to return your call takes an act of congress. They get a zero for responsiveness. When you do get ahold of someone all you get are excuses. Did you file a warranty claim? Yes we did......but excuse me....this isn't a warranty issue.....this was something that was never completed in the first place!!! Well.....that's our experience with Core. Wish we had chosen another builder in our new development.....but we liked the house design. I've read other posts that say their craftsmanship begins to fall apart after one year......I sure hope that's not true......but, time will tell!

We were in contract with Core to build a home, but we walked away from it because they were not willing to honor the contractual terms that were in there pertaining to the elevation/exterior style of the home. We wanted (and the contracted stated) a modern style of home and the builder said that the house had to be and was going to be a more traditional look. This was dropped on us late in the game after we were in contract and after weeks of only having seen pictures and renderings and references of a modern style, which is what we thought we were buying, and what the contract actually said we would be getting. A “bright side” way of looking at this situation is a general ineptitude on the part of the builder and realtors who don’t read contracts and/or just don’t realize what they were doing in terms of being inaccurate on the elevation of the house in all of their materials and the wording of contracts. Another way to look at it would be as more of a deception or bait and switch. I cannot be sure which one it was, but either way we had no interest in working with a builder who would not honor the contract we had entered into together, or even try to make a recovery on the situation in any manner whatsoever. I also am compelled to mention that the owner exhibited at what best could be described as indifference to how we as clients felt about the situation. More accurately, it came across as more of a contempt for us clients. Walking away from this builder was one of the better decisions we’ve made.

I love my home and the quality has held up through the years. The builder has always acted with professionalism and integrity. Having worked with several builders and contractors throughout both my professional career as well as personally, I highly recommend Core Building Co.

This is the same owner of the bankrupt GQ Construction. As a former owner of one of his homes, I can testify to their shotty workmanship and terrible business practices. We purchased a high end spec home in Woodbridge from GQ in 2005. We had dozens of warranty issues from the start and was unable to get anything done. They were adversarial and arrogant. At the one year mark we were told despite when the claims were filed, they were no longer liable. After ten years our home was literally falling apart. Our stairs had to be completely rebuilt. Every window in the house was warped and came out of the walls. The front porch settled and took the entire post and truss/roof with it. It cost me over 30k to get that shack of a home up to code and sellable. It was of no shock to see they didn’t make it through the recession. So it’s also of no shock to see this fraud, under a new company name, getting the same complaints we had to endure. Consumers beware. There are a number of VERY fine builders in the valley that survived the housing collapse because they stand by their work.

Build fast not to last ! The president of this company doesn't know anything about house building. Nothing is done by the book, everything is done to cash money on your back. Shortly after the 1 year warranty period your house will start to fall apart bit by bit.

Having a house built by Core Building Co is an exhausting process where lie after lie your joy goes away. McDonald's has a better customer service

This company is absolutey horrid. Their worksites are a disaster. They do not dispose of their trash, including dangerous fiberglass insulation pieces, fast food wrappers, and other construction materials. As a result, this trash blows into the street, neighbors’ yards, and other neighborhood common areas like parks and ponds. This is littering and this company does it every single day. Their customer service is even worse than their worksite conditions. They refused to listen to numerous complaints, and even laughed at requests to pick up after themselves. Avoid working with this company at all costs. They are incredibly careless and continue to litter my neighborhood and yard day in and day out.

Core Building Co refuses to split the fencing costs with those who build next door. I emailed an individual at Core who I thought could help but was told that other builders don't split the cost with them so they wouldn't either. Poor leadership and childish attitude are all that I came away with.
