West London Crossroads Carer Services (formerly Crossroads Care West London) is a leading provider of support for carers and the people they care for. We support unpaid carers of all ages who have a significant caring responsibility for family or friends. We do this through the provision of short home care respite breaks so that carers can attend to their own needs and return refreshed to their caring roles. We aim to ensure that all carers are: recognised, valued and supported. In 2012 - 2013 we supported almost 800 primary carers – 315 of these carers, through information and advice from our Carers Rights Service (link to carers rights page) that helped to identify eligibility for £85,000 worth of benefits. 485 carers received 39,000 hours of short respite breaks. We offer double value, supporting carers and those for whom they care. However, when secondary carers such as siblings and extended family supporters are included, the number of beneficiaries rises to more than 2000. Crossroads Carer Services was formed in March 2010 following the merger of Crossroads Care schemes in Brent, Ealing and Hounslow.
