I often visit Branscombe on my return from Chesil if I leave early enough however.. Because the parking here is horrendously expensive so often I'll arrive before 6am and just find a little space to pull up temporarily before anyone's up and about so as not to annoy anyone as I think it's privately owned. There is nowhere to park out of the way so if I was here during normal people hours I'd definitely be in somebodys way. Great place to visit during or after a storm, some impressive waves can be seen.. But don't get too close!
Tipton, great pub together with a great garage next to the river, what more does one need.
There are brilliant coastal walks in east Devon. For example the walk from Beer to Branscombe is simply breathtaking and only a few miles. You can visit the cafe and forge at Branscombe and then catch the local bus back.
Aylesbeare common is a glorious place to walk - I go there often with or without a dog and delight in seeing the sea in the distance and the beautiful views over the commonland. The grazing ponies and cattle are also a lovely sight as are the colourful flowering plants such as heather and gorse. Possible to have a long or short walk depending on what you have time for, I always go back to my car refreshed as I feel my spirit revitalised
