I needed a quick refresher on a counterbalance forklift as I had an upcoming assessment for a potential job and was pleased that these guys were able to offer one at short notice. The price is steep at 275 for the day so if you are in no rush like me look elsewhere. For the money I feel the service I received and the training was very poor. Firstly be aware that there is no dedicated training area at what is basically a forklift hire firm. The practical training is done on a small patch of tarmac, outside next to a busy road directly in the entrance to their yard. As a result we spent significant time waiting for various cars and trucks to be moved so that we could do the practical work. It then appeared that there was no working truck available. One was found only for us then to be told it was going out on hire. Eventually a very old and temperamental machine was supplied. During the whole of the day I probably only spent 2 hrs maximum on the truck with interruption after interruption standing around on a baking hot day leaving me sunburnt as I hadn't expected to be outside. Inside the theory was read out to me then a video was played which basically just repeated everything that had been read out. A theory test was undertaken which was basic enough and based on what we had gone over earlier. Finally a practical test was done. Simon, the trainer, was very friendly but preparation was poor with his I.T. equipment not ready to deliver the theory work and he was also unable to supply a cert at the end of the day. I was promised I would be contacted on the Monday re my cert but was not and eventually had to chase them up myself to get my cert posted out to me. No lunch was provided. Look elsewhere if you need training - there are plenty of other providers who will charge less and will at least have a decent truck and dedicated indoor training facilities unlike these guys
