I ordered a sofa, waited nearly 3 months for delivery to find the order hadn't been submitted. The person responsible (Jodie) was totally unconcerned. I cancelled at this point. It has taken several more visits to try to get a refund on the deposit. The manager never once put in an appearance. This is a badly run store full of incompetent staff.

Went here twice in the last week hoping to buy a new sofa. I felt I was discriminated against because I was young, compared to a lot of their other customers. I had to approach the sales staff and ask questions... they were not interested in my custom at all. However, I watched the staff approach other customers and help them without a second thought. My second trip was even worse! When I entered the store I was asked “have you visited us before?” I replied “yes, 2 days ago. We’re hoping to buy a sofa today” Reply from staff member “ok” THATS IT! She walked away! I then walked around the store, sat on the 1800 sofa I was hoping to purchase, watched the staff members congregate around the front door having a gossip with each other. I tried to get their attention and stood next to the sofa awaiting help for over 10 minutes before walking out. I then went to Oak Furniture Land.. and what a difference! Friendly staff, very helpful and knowledgeable. I purchased a sofa within 20 minutes and had a lovely experience with them. DFS - your customer service was atrocious.

We ordered in Feb and have only just got our sofas - Covid delays understandable but have now waited well over two weeks and no update on missing feet for one of the items of furniture. Makes it hard to recommend as we paid over 4k and cannot yet use some of the furniture five months of waiting on.

Think before you buy. Never pay up front. Purchased two sofas. Given a delivery date. The day before delivery we were contacted to say that the company who made the sofas had a problem with the leather and there would be a delay. We had got rid of our old sofas ready for the delivery but this wasn't a problem they were bringing loan furniture (this was later referred to "as a gesture of goodwill"). They agreed we would be compensated and I had to ask for a refund but they kept the deposit! They advised the new sofas would be with us by mid September (supposed to be with us mid August). 11 September message to say they would be in the warehouse on 23 September. I had made it clear that if they were not with us by the end of September the order would be cancelled and we would expect compensation for getting rid of our furniture. 30 September still no news so I emailed cancelling the order and surprise surprise the next day (1 October) DFS ring to say they wanted to arrange delivery. I then had to ask for my deposit back and I asked what compensation we would be getting - 10% off your sofas if you accept delivery of them! We have contacted the CEO only to have a reply via Head of Customer Services stating they had provided loan furniture (which was pretty grim I hasten to add & has marked the radiator and walls) plus if we did accept delivery of their furniture a 10% discount was offered. Not good all round :(
Good store with some impressive offers on. Sofa selection was good, but as we were looking for electric recliners the offering was more limited. It's a bit disappointing to see that the majority of recliners tend to be also leather, with very few in fabric. Store staff were good, not too intrusive, but still made their presence felt. this was just an initial look, so we didn't really want to discuss our sofa solutions (!) but they weren't too bad. Good shop in a good location
