This company produced a flawed report about a property driveway that had a financial impact of 3576 on Leaseholders in an adjacent property. The location was in Cherwell Road, Heathfield, East Sussex. The overall construction of the 9 page report was biased in favour of the ‘driveway’ owner and was flawed to the extent that it lacked any technical details at all. These details were easily obtained by myself as a layman in one hour including phone calls and travelling time. The report failed to state the age of the Driveway, 53 years, sub standard single layer asphalt laid on broken bricks, no edging, a gradient of 31/33 degrees, built within half a meter of the boundary and excavated half a meter into the area of potential roots from adjacent mature trees near the boundary. These facts were completely ignored in the report. As a result of this flawed incomplete report I made a complaint in the first instance to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and after two acknowledgements, i received nothing else. Perhaps this organisation has ‘Royal’ in its title is because it stands aloof from the public ! I subsequently approached CABE who were responsive to my complaint, however after six months of deliberations they decided there was no case to answer. Kingston Morehens report appears to be the ‘Layman's standards’ to which CABE attempt to aspire to and not the Professional standards one would expect.
Kevin Feakins and Kingston Morehen provided great service to our Charitable Trust in providing an assessment of and maintenance plan for our War Memorial Chapel. The report was very clear and succinct and has given the Trust reassurance and a sound basis in going forward. Very professionally executed and data and feedback clearly presented.
