I Walk Amongst You

Needed some minor things looking at on a recently-bought Rover 25. Sent a message via their online form and still hadn't had a reply around 6 weeks later. Normally I wouldn't give an organisation a second chance in those circumstances, but I needed somewhere convenient, so gave them a call. They initially couldn't find my original enquiry, but did eventually and booked me in. The required work was to re-attach a windscreen washer pipe, fix the dash clock and also the heater blower, which wouldn't work on 1 or 2. Dropped it in first thing and they told me they'd call me later that day. By 3pm I still hadn't heard from them, so gave them a call; at that stage, they were still doing diagnostics and told me they'd call me later when finished. I didn't hear from them again that day. Fortunate then, that I hadn't needed my car.... Called again the following morning and they told me that they'd lost my mobile no. from their system, that they were still looking at something, but to come in that afternoon. Whe I arrived, the hose had been re-attached for free, but I was charged 72 for diagnosics - this consisted of telling me that the clock needed replacing and that the blower needed a new resistor (which I could have found out on Google). Also said that they couldn't get a new resistor for love nor money, but that if I could source one they would fit it for me. Well, they're readily available on both ebay and Amazon and so I ordered one. A few days later I phoned SCGS, told them I had the part and asked for a quote for fitting. Told me they'd call back but, several weeks later, I still haven't had a response. The staff are pleasant enough and (sadly) I can't yet comment on quality of work. But their customer communication is almost non-existent and so far I've had a very poor return on my 72.

Had a sudden fuel filter leak while on holiday and Dave was very helpful and fitted a new filter while I went for a coffee. Top service and my old td5 is running great again .
