Darren has provided and excellent, professional and thorough service as part of our loft conversion and ground floor reconfiguration project on our bungalow. As has been commented on in previous reviews Darren is a very friendly and approachable in his manner, and takes the time to talk through all elements of a project and provide sound advice to help inform design and build decisions. The whole spitfire service is extremely comprehensive, but flexible as well; and Darren adapted his service to our particular needs right from the start. Darren was able to tailor his services to cater for exactly what we needed, and when. At the start of the project, we had some initial ideas about what we wanted to achieve, and Darren took the time to work through the design with us in detail to get every part exactly right, providing advice on how achievable things were, and on what would work to keep costs within budget. Darren was able to articulate to us clearly the process behind planning permission and building regulations applications (otherwise a somewhat inaccessible process for the layman) and guided us through each step to achieve what we wanted. Darren has always been quick with a response and open to discussion when any questions have arisen - and has only been a phone call or e-mail away if we needed any help. The project is currently being built, and having the consistency of a solid design and a full set of approved plans has given us the confidence we needed to press ahead with the project as designed. During the initial build stages Darren has provided support and advice on the design directly to us and to the builders, and has supported us in achieving the original plans. We are a few weeks away from completion, and are very excited to see the plans taking shape. I would highly recommend Spitfire Architecture to anyone thinking of undertaking a project to improve their home!

We have had a very good experience working with Darren on our extension project. His manner and approach help debunk the impression (whether deserved or not) of architects as being somewhat aloof. He is professional and friendly and has a sound grasp of what is real and achievable. He has designed our kitchen/diner side extension to fit seamlessly with our existing property and with our working budget in mind. We have appreciated the work he has done with regards to preparing submissions for planning and building regulations and he has always been ready to respond when questions have arisen. We are at the build stage now and are very excited to see the extension developing following Darren's plans. Darren designed our extension for what was a very disjointed/cramped house to now a very open and sociable, beautiful house to be proud of. We are particularly happy with the great idea Darren had for our vaulted ceiling in the master bedroom. It definately has the wow factor and has made the room appear huge which is exactly what we wanted.

Darren assisted us with the drawings and planning for a 2 bed with shared en-suite loft conversion. The process went as agreed and the design options were appreciated, as well as the liaison with the Planning Dept. Amendments to plans were dealt with efficiently, as the one major issue we had with the staircase. Darren got involved when required and options agreed. The final result is an excellent conversion and we would fully recommend Spitfire Architecture.
