For the price, the portions are quite small, with a large portion costing 4.00 when a similar quantity elsewhere would be considered a small for less than half the price (never mind 50p per ketchup sachet). Additionally, the wait for two orders of chips was nearly 25 minutes. I don’t know what they’re doing to make these chips, but I don’t understand how it takes 25 minutes. Also, the staff only intermittently wore masks, and were observed touching their faces with gloved hands. I’d recommend a short walk elsewhere if you’re craving chips by the seaside.

Contrary to the reviews here I found it a great chippy. Chips are perfect. The fish is great. Liked the seasoning. Probably this is a new team. Keep up the good work
I was lucky enough to find that place yesterday when everything else around was dead shut. And I can easily admit I found nothing cheap about this chippy (well except great value indeed!). Fish was super fresh and tasty, not oily at all and with some glorious aroma (coconut oil???). Chips were nice and crispy too and everything arrived sprinklered with aromatic parsley seasoning. All together one of the best fish&chips experience in my life, I kid you not! Even the box with a customised sticker on it was a nice change and added to the overall value. Keep it up good work boys, well done! Cant wait to pop in there with my friends next time I am in Eastbourne. Thanks!!!
What a treat! Vegan 'fish' and chips in Eastbourne! My wife and I loved the quality of the chips, all warm, fluffy and crispy. As for the vegan 'fish' this was the best we've tasted. I think it was battered banana blossom. The only slight issue was that the person taking the order was unsure about the BBQ jackfruit and forgot our vegan tartare sauce order. Annoyingly I didn't realise until I was back at the car. These was little things though and The Chippy is now the only place we will be going to for our 'fish' and chips, and we will certainly be returning again and again and again! Thank you The Chippy for embracing veganism.
Chips ok but very small portion for 3 each! Don't mind paying a bit more but disappointing. Better chippies in town.

went to the chippy today saturday 24/04/2021 my daughter ordered large chips and a sausage waited about 20 minutes when my daughter asked how longer it would be efore she got her order the man behind the counter shouted give her her money back in a very nasty manner she eventually got her sausage and chips but they gave her a small portion would never go back to that greasey not so very clean chippy again
First time here as under new ownership. Ordered large chips, very nice, but disappointed as expensive (4) & the portion was smaller than nearby regular sized portions.
