Like cinemas used to be. A little bit frayed around the edges (aren't we all) but a real picture palace. Screen 1 is a decent size and so is screen 2. Classic styling, red velvet and heavy drapes. People of Eastbourne, support your beautiful cinema.

Has an old world charm that makes film going enjoyable. Lovely staff with pleasant manner and helpfulness not readily seem today. Will definitely keep my eye on their offerings if it gives me the chance to a changed evening out!
Really loved this cinema. Although I’ve never been in a room where seats are not towards the screen it didn’t really bother. Seats are uncomfortable of course but that’s part of being an old cinema. I liked it a lot. We watched Cats and even if the sound was not surrounding us we really enjoyed the movie.
The Curzon is slightly off the beaten track. One of those old cinemas reminiscent of my own childhood. I guess that's why I am drawn more to it than the plush new cinema at the Towner art gallery. Inside is tired, there's no flowering it up. It's quiet but the staff are friendly and accommodating. The cinema ticket is old school which made me smile. The toilets were freezing and in need of some TLC but everything needed was present and correct. (Including a durex machine although I'm not sure why this amused me so) As I walked into the screening, the dimmed lighting, plush red seating and 70s decor filled my heart. I saw The Favourite which I loved. There were two other people in the entire room. (why did they decide to sit near me though??) If you love the big, formulaic, cinema chains you will hate the Curzon. But if you're a fan of the big screen and the sheer joyful experience of a cinema trip, you really should visit whilst you're in Eastbourne. It irked me noticing that both the Towner and the Curzon were showing the same film on the same day as it doesn't seem to be a fair contest. The Curzon may be run down and in need of a lick of paint but it's history. It's faded beauty is to be treasured. And who knows how long it will be around. Go. Support. Enjoy.
Proper cinema with excellent sound and projection. Decor is a little tired but the movies which include 'art house' pictures are well chosen and ticket and kiosk prices are very reasonable. Go.
Nice staff, can be shown to your seat if film has started. Good seats. Not too loud. Cheaper tickets.
Really nice cinema. Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful. Warm, comfortable feel. Great sound. Very accessible. Would highly recommend.
We just went to see The Aeronauts in the big screen upstairs and was great... sad to think this little cinema will be gone at some point in the near future, everyone should support this by coming here over the new big cinema complex, staff have always being wonderful and coming here has a charm on itself that gives you a unique experience, will keep going to our beloved Curzon til the end.
