Foods lovely but I asked the waitress if I could order a beer with my dinner as I'm 17 and as part of the laws around alcohol 16-17 year olds can have someone over 18 order an Alcoholic beverage with food, and she confirmed that I could order it as long as she saw some ID. I showed her and she said that's all fine and bought it over. When I took my first sip however, she came back and asked to see my ID again and said I couldn't have it because I was only 17 and took it out of my hand. Wasn't bothered much because it was just a beer but made the whole experience a bit irritating as I then had to order another drink with my dinner.

Very enjoyable experience. The food is really reasonable and very good in quality. Great selection of drinks too and the pub is located a few mins walk from the seafront. Well worth a visit for a great atmosphere, cheap drinks and very reasonable food.

Visited 3 times over the weekend. Track and trace and other measures all in place. Firstly sat outside in the sunshine drinking. Staff constantly out cleaning tables and chatting with punters. Second visit was in the evening, inside, cool spacious and excellent prices for drinks. Third visit was for a meal. Booked in, ordered, and although fairly busy had our food in no time. It was lovely. Although on a eat out to help out basis, so cheaper. I would not hesitate in future ,to pay the menu price, tremendous value. Congratulations

This place has a friendly vibe, can get busy especially now with the covid restrictions, but the food is very good, different beers, and lagers a plenty, and very good value for money

We visited the Duke of Devonshire whilst away for a weekend in Eastbourne on a whim. Service was great start to finish and safety precautions were in place in line with cv-19 which made us feel safe in the given climate. The menu had so much choice, it was hard to know what to choose. We were delighted with our meals. It was the best meal we had whilst away (and the cheapest!) And the decor in the pub is fab! Look forward to returning when back in the area again!

Very well ventilated pub, keeps you cool at this crazy heat.. it's very spacious, good service, but I wasn't hungry to try the food. But it looked good, I saw it going on someone's table :)

Long Island Ice Tea

Nice pub OK just visited for the second time and I've had to upgrade to 5 stars! Staff very friendly, food incredible! Will visit again next time in Eastbourne
