Gordon is a knowledgeable and patient teacher, and I could not have wished for a better person to learn guitar from. He has taught me lots of theory and techniques but never forgets to include the fun stuff as well. Gordon is also a very kind teacher, and a brilliant guitarist who has taught me way more about playing than I previously knew. Liam 11.

Gordon’s enthusiasm for the guitar is contagious. His lessons are well planned and each week I make more progress than I have with any other guitar teacher. I am finally beginning to understand thanks to his lessons, each of which follows on neatly from the last.
Gordon is patient, positive and incredibly knowledgeable. The structure of the sessions are gradual and we'll thought out and the pace for me was perfect. During lockdown, he adapted to sending high quality online tutorials which have been really useful. I highly recommend Gordon!
Gordon’s lessons are always well planned and challenging. Especially since the first lockdown, his efforts to give interesting and stimulating instruction online that move his pupils forward have been excellent.
We started our journey with no set agenda. Our son had plenty of free time and we wanted to fill it with something creative and musical and not time spent on video games. We are not a musical family but we did acquire a cheap eBay junior sized guitar. We found Rivers Way Guitar Tuition very close by, and offering free introductory lessons. So we popped along in a casual fashion, with no expectations. What can we say, other than Gordon's tuition, passion and love for the guitar was an instant hit with our Son. They bonded and gelled instantly. The sessions are always great fun, instructional and challenging. I also feel that the structure of the programme Gordon set out for our son gave him the encouragement, drive and the boundary pushing he needs. Particularly, the ability from after just a couple of sessions to being able to play some constructive music was a real eye opener and our son was hooked. An area we didn't appreciate was the creative aspect surrounding music, and this is an area that Gordon always strongly emphasises, encouraging students to compose and make their own music. The jamming sessions have also been great confidence builders. Gordon treats our son musically as an adult and that is awesome. We have gone from just hoping the boy might be able to casually play a tune or two, to following a more structured platform, with RGT grade 6 now well within his sights, and beyond. Our son is now at secondary school and has a very full diary. Guitar takes lots of practice and commitment. Something our son is still willing to find the time for and make the effort. All because he found a wonderful guitar teacher who exudes and shares the love of music and guitar.
