First class reception and treatment for many years (hip joint, cancer, etc.) .. now age 74 in my second youth! :-)

I have been going to this surgery for many years and, when I was younger, the service provided was alright. However, as I have got older the service has deteriorated rapidly. What I mean by this is that, when you book a consultation with a doctor there, it feels to me that (on more than one occasion even when seeing various doctors) they don't listen to what you have to say, and want you to leave the room as soon as possible. Even ending up giving you something that can prove ineffective and continuing to suffer, creating even more of a problem for you as a patient. Not happy with the surgery as a a whole because, even when trying to do something as simple as to get in touch with them, you end up having to call them about 6 times before they actually end up answering. Wouldn't recommend to others.

I recommend signing up to one of the others in Chandler's Ford. Urgent calls are not handled with urgency and the receptionists are really unhelpful when you are obviously not feeling good. Not what you want!

What can I say recently joined surgery due to becoming a paraplegic, reception staff were amazing polite and accommodating when I ring (sometimes I have to wait however that has to be expected under covid conditions) I always treated with respect. Best reception I've had at a dr surgery. Doctors themselves, I have holly emery and shes lovely I have telephone appointments and things are explained clearly and professionally. Dr McKenna is lovely too spoken to her a few times and liked the way she chased things up. I had a I believe a nurse? Called Lark Avery, omg she was lovely, polite, informative, and took care with my legs when moving and basically couldnt ask for a nicer lady . So welldone to you all at Fryern surgery. One negative is the phone, when on hold the phone cuts off and goes silent then after that it resets again with the starting message! Somebody needs to look into that as it seems like we lose connection however we haven't!

Phone takes ages to be answered (most recent 1.5 hours and 37 calls due to keep being cut off) and when it is answered they seem to be very rude and abrupt. Not only this several times I was sent away with symptoms to later be diagnoised with gastroperisis from the hospital as was blue lighted in and the hospital did say if I had of been treated weeks before for gastroenteritis it may not have come to this..... Dr ward is also very rude and made me cry with his non sympathetic ear telling me I have stomach issues and to basically learn to deal with it end of. I am currently looking for another doctors
