Swan Centre very quiet due to lockdown, but was surprised WHS open - this was due to this branch having a post office. Not many Fathers Day cards though, but staff pleasant & helpful.

Woeful staff in this shop who will do anything rather than serve their customers. Even when stood in front of the till and ringing the bell for service they would rather continue their inane conversations with friends rather than do their job. I have been a customer of WH Smith for almost 50 years but no more. It may well be that the staff are treated with contempt by the management, but there is no need to pass that contempt onto the customer.

Orderd a signed book front Ant Middleton to the store, heard nothing so went into store and said they could not find it. Had no interest in helping me and said system had changed and to talk to head office. They would not even give me the number to call them! Called customer services who said it had been lost in the post and would give me a refund as they have no more signed copies left! I could have purchased a signed copy from elsewhere but am no longer able to get of any! Poor service and they really don’t care!

On this particular day they were understaffed so the poor girl there was rushing around trying to please everyone. Resulted in quite a wait to be served. Very dim lighting, always feels like it's actually closed. Magazines were all messed up, never managed to find the one I wanted (again due to the lack of staff that day) And the prices! Still very very high. I understand it's hard to compete with online sellers these days but certainly need a bit of flexibility with the pricing, they are driving people to shop elsewhere. I'm very surprised how WHSmith still do so well.

Just bought some foreign currency from the post office inside Swan Centre WHS. Checked the website afterwards and we got a much worse rate than we should have done. Never going to shop there again.

Have stationary, but kind of expensive, but it is good high quality. The upstairs has lots of text books from KS3 to A level as well as lots of art supplies. I didn't even know the top floor existed for a large amounts of visits!

Post office is great, but a certain member of staff at WHSmith eastleigh has been quite rude recently. I come in once or twice a week to the post office to look through their coins for designs I'm interested in. And they are great. But I also go to the WHSmith till and ask. Many times they have been great about going through the coins for me. But there is one woman who is lazy and rude to me. The first incident that happened with her, she was on till and i asked like always to look through the coins. She said 'I'm busy I can't'. I was fine with it, maybe I had just come at a bad time. But it happened again in a different but even ruder way. I was in the que for the post office and this lady came through with a cart with only an empty box, that would just get thrown away anyway, I said excuse me to her as I wanted the box, which i have asked for before and have been given. She completely blanked me out and sped out her walk. I asked again and she started speeding up her walk almost to a run whilst at the same time making lots of noise with the trolley, I assume so she 'couldn't hear me'. The same thing happened today which is what led me to make this review. Both times out of curiosity I went back in to look and she certainly wasn't busy. In fact she wasn't even on till today . It was another lady that was unsure if she was allowed to look through the coins which is completely understandable. She asked this woman if she herself could look through them and the woman replied with once again 'we are too busy'. Overall I am very disappointed with this shop and hope you read this and improve.

As usual, a visit to the Eastleigh store never fails to disappoint. Staff are nowhere to be seen normally but now they have a self-service checkout... Also as usual, when staff finally attend, they avoid eye contact, through body language indicate that you've pulled them away from far more important work and only speak to say how much you owe. I only ever go when my son forces me to!!
