The Thalidomide Trust is rated 3 out of 5 in the category nonprofit organization management. Read and write reviews about The Thalidomide Trust. The Thalidomide Trust was established in 1973 – originally as the Thalidomide Children’s Trust – as part of a legal settlement from Distillers Company Ltd to recognise the harm that was done to children whose mothers had taken Thalidomide in the UK during their pregnancy and who were born with disabilities. We currently support 465 beneficiaries between 53 and 59 years of age. These are a remarkable group of people some of whom have made outstanding achievements in their lives despite living with extreme levels of disability. We are not a scientific or medical foundation; we are a registered charity committed to ensuring that all our beneficiaries have access to the resources and support they need to maximise their quality of life.
