When we first went there for our exams, etc, they were very slow. We had an appointment and still waited over 40 minutes. Then they helped us pick out frames. The optician, a gentleman who said he'd only been there 2 weeks, was very nice. He even went an extra step and cleaned and tightened my old glasses. When we went to pay, (a pair for me and a pair for my husband) they said it would take 7-10 days. It took almost 4 weeks!! I asked to speak to the owner/manager and a very nasty woman with blond hair came out. She had an attitude before I even said anything. She said "you already got a discount, what do you want? I can't do 1/2 price" I said that was 4 weeks ago when they were promised for 10 days! She then said you can pick out a frame of sunglasses. I said with my prescription? She said "oh no. That would cost you the price of the lens." I told her that she already knew that was worthless because I need glasses all the time. She then got really nasty, took a 20 bill and threw it on the counter! She said "here's your discount"! I will never go there again. They also did not have an optician there to fine tune the frames. We went there because that was 1 place our insurance covered, but after this, never again. Please let your family and friends know not to go there. They are in the Monmouth Mall, so it is convenient if your shopping, but it isn't worth it.

Probably the first negative review I have ever written! I feel compelled to share that this facility took over five (5) weeks to deliver the glasses that were promised in 5-7 business days. I had to call every week to check the status. No one from this office ever bothered to call me, NOT EVEN ONCE, to let me know why/what the delay was. Finally when the glasses arrived, the lenses were not balanced correctly. You would think that after 5 weeks everything would be perfect!! When I went to pick-up the glasses, the staff wanted to avoid me completely so they don't have to answer any questions. I didn't want to waste my time questioning the delay BUT the manager or someone should have at least offered an explanation, if not an apology. I would just suggest that as a paying customer, you have many options to choose from as a service provider and I will recommend you to stay away from this facility. You deserve better as a consumer! Hope this helps someone.
if you anyone wants glasses for cheap or want a very nice pair but can’t afford it.. ask for nilton and wendy and they real 100% help you out with what you can afford. I am happy with the pair of glasses I got and they really helped financially best place
Did not honor 1230 appointments on last day of year. They blamed everyone but themselves and only notified us 20 minutes before. By the way, I did email the manager who responded and no subsequent response was provided. As proven by this experience, it is clear that they do not care about their customers
I don't understand all of the negative reviews about this place. This is the second year that I've gone to the Monmouth Mall location, i'm greeted as soon as i walk in the door, everyone is very friendly and ready to answer any questions, and i ask a lot of them, even the Dr has a great sense of humor, which is very important to me. I will continue to visit this location every time i have a problem. No one there has ever tried to push a more expensive product on me, it is what it is, if you want top of the line glasses, you're gonna have to pay for them. Also, i like donuts :)
Horrible went to the mall new years day for.new glasses and they were the only ones closed. No sign or anything stating they were closed so went to dollar store and got readers popped the lenses out and put.mine in it till I cam get a new pair but never going to cohens again one time took my glasses there for adjustment ant the girl broke them and ga e me a pair too small and said that's all they can do that's horrible goodbye cohens
First time to this eye doctor. I was nervous because I am a diabetic and didn't have eye insurance for a few years, so me being the person I am, I worried myself crazy that something was wrong. This office took the time to answer all my questions with honest answers. They spent an hour helping me choose a pair of glasses I'd liked and (did not force) the more expensive ones on me.. all the staff there were great and the guy there even took time to distract my nephew long enough so I could choose a pair. I recommen this eye care Center to anyone and I'd trust my son with there experience. Very happy customer !
