My brother, Jeff, is here in the Reflections unit on hospice. He has been here a week and his passing is imminent. The nursing and hospice staff here are wonderful! I can't say enough to express my gratitude for their care! The accommodations, too, for family members is just what we needed at this time: a comfortable guest suite, a hot shower, and a family room kitchen complete with coffee and food items to help sustain us while we say goodbye to our loved one.

My experience with Dove Healthcare has been terrible.I currently have a relative who lives there, and how she is treated is downright neglectful. Besides taking their time when it comes to answering her when she calls, they completely ignored her when she told them she had fallen when she was walking to the bathroom. This behavior is completely inappropriate and dangerous. If her fall had been worse, she could have ended up with internal bleeding and died. This ignorance of obvious symptoms didn't just happen once. Later on, she was complaining of chest pain and told her nurse. The nurse ignored her, and this chest pain went on for three days until nurses at the hospital (NOT at Dove) decided to admit her to the ER. Turns out she had a heart attack. It is absurd how little the patients are tended to. How this healthcare facility is run is irresponsible, and the majority of the staff seems to not put the patients needs at a top priority. Dove should have immediately taken her to the hospital when she told them of her chest pains. Even after this, they still ignore her dietary needs and keep her on the regular diet instead of the cardiac one. Along with this extreme irresponsibility, the failure to contact with those who need to be is overly prevalent. When she had another medical complication, Dove failed to contact our family. And when she finally returned to Dove after being in the hospital, her nurse had no idea that she needed a two-person assist or that she even had this medical complication. The majority of the staff at Dove Healthcare obviously disregard the major needs of the patients and family and rarely care to inform themselves about the patients medical conditions. To sum it up: irresponsible, neglectful, and uninformed. If you have an ounce of liking towards your elderly relatives, don't send them here.

I'm here on palliative care I have brain cancer and an appt at MAYO tomorrow, will likely be on hospice when I return, it's been several days now with no PT unless getting to the toilet counts, I was doing really well but now even my strong leg is wasting away, have really gone downhill, feeling very neglected, they are a caring competent staff, but I need more physical activity of some sort.
