His wife, Keri, had recently supported Chad in moving toward a life that practiced minimalism, prioritized family, and enabled creativity and intellectual growth. This husband & wife duo had grown bored of chasing the “American dream” and was eager to use their talents to engage with and improve their community. In 2013, Chad realized that for the majority of his professional career, creativity, personal growth, and authentic client relationships were being neglected. He was unable to explore design, art and music on deeper levels because of his exhaustive work schedule. People are multi-faceted, purposefully designed creatures who should be daily utilizing their various talents to improve their relationships and their environments. Thus began The Eau Claire Design Co. (ECDCo.). *This ECDCo. was established prior to Eau Claire Downtown Coffee, but they forgive them for copying the acronym because ECDC serves an excellent white chocolate mocha. A licensed Architect & Builder, Chad utilizes his 15 years of experience in Architectural design and construction as he collaborates with other artists and craftsman to provide his clients with unique residential and commercial spaces. In between cheering on Chad and keeping the business organized, Keri finds outlets for her creative energy in graphic design by developing logos, publications and branding elements. Whether it’s a room, a photograph, a logo, a website, or a song, ECDCo. believes that purposeful design provokes a great experience. The profit ECDCo. earns is used to sustain meaningful missions such as The Pen Project (513free.com) and Build Eau Claire, a local mission to improve and construct housing for people who are at-risk. Since 2013, over 30% of ECDCo.’s projects have been performed at no cost for organizations and individuals who share our vision for health and beauty in the Chippewa Valley.
