Why is the gate shut at 9:30 on a Friday?Nowhere else to park? How do get to lock people out of a county park? Looking to put my kayak in. Great job anne arundel county!

Great free access spot for cartop boat launches.
Nice place to put in a kayak and fish. Good for white perch, but have also seen stripers, catfish, yellow perch, and even redfish and sea trout. Calm waters, pretty scenery.
For paddlers this is one of few public access to South River. There is decent size parking space. Access road is grass/gravel road (quite bumpy). From the parking lot one has to hand carry the kayak/canoe/SUP a few hundred feet to the water.
Wish it wasn't a gated park. Code is available by filling out an online form, just search homeport farm park or scan the qr code to the left of the gate
