Amazing place. Peaceful during the day. Great to see some wee boats go by. Old army buildings are good to have a look at.

Its 20 minutes walk from Cramond village end to Cramond Island when there is low tide so you get 2 to 3 hours safe walking on and around Cramond Island but make sure your safe time set before going to Island, tide time schedule at both ends because when high tide water has high currents n big waves so careful otherwise its lovely to lie down on grass fields on top of Island, there r some military bunkers used during 2nd World War,there is not any facilities either toilet or water so just walk around n back to Cramond village end, everything u get there

Beautiful little island around Edinburgh. Find your way from Cramond Beach through path way to reach island. Please check tide schedule for the day at the display board. Nice views from the island really. You could see Edinburgh Castle from Island too. Take bus 41 from Princess Street to reach Cramond beach.

A really great and unique attraction of Edinburgh. It would be great to see some money out into the place and clean up the rubbish and graffiti.

Lovely historical place to go for a walk. On the western side there is a small brick building of unknown purpose. Nearby, perched precariously on the rocky shore is the ruin of a small square building which was used as an ammunition store during the war, though its stone construction suggests it is much older than either World War, possibly contemporary with the farmstead in the middle of the island. Please if you go for picnic or camping don't forget to take your rubbish with you!!!

What's not to love? Beautiful landscape and views, lovely village, lots of history... Be careful and aware of safe crossing times.
