Lovely staff, an absolute gorgeous selection of the finest antique jewelry - it looks as good as new, or better! They managed to supply me a silver earring clip (I misplaced mine as I fell asleep in them) for a very reasonable price. I hope one day to have enough money to come back and buy a really special item! Thanks!

Friendly staff but do not use to get your watch fixed! I handed in my 1982 vintage Seiko diving watch (6309-7049) for a full service which cost around 130. The watch came back with a one year guarantee. Within that year the watch had to be returned twice, once for condensation inside the watch face and a second time for poor time keeping. Both issues were not resolved satisfactorily. Soon after the warranty expired, the automatic watch started losing 2 hrs every night! I asked the shop to check what the problem was. The watch was sent to the repair technician for checking and I was informed that I needed to pay for another full service to fix it. The worst part was that the watch came back damaged, the crown was so stiff that I was unable to change the time or date. Off it went again to the technician. The watch came back today as bad as before, the crown came off in the shop as I tried to demonstrate the problem. The manager told me they could only help if I paid for another full service. Surely watches, even vintage ones, are not meant to be fully serviced every year?
We had a really good experience here. We were helped by someone who was really knowledgeable and patient! It was exactly the kind of place we were hoping to find in Edinburgh while looking for engagement and wedding rings.
Visited both of Goodwin's stores looking for a ring. Friendly and helpful service at both with lots of advice and tips on choosing and even photographing the options. I had to have a new ring made as there wasn't one in my size and we went into lockdown just as it was due to arrive. Goodwin's were helpful and apologetic throughout the delay and today I managed to collect my ring just one day after the store re-opened. Lovely box, beautiful ring and exceptional service in exceptional circumstances.

I ordered mending my engagement ring this Tuesday and picked it up today. So many scratches on both inside and outside of the surface. The worst is that the ring frame is distorted! This disaster costed 40. It’s like I paid for having my engagement ring tortured. Never recommend mending jewelry at this shop. Update 30/03/2019: Goodwins offered a refund on the work today. They also offered to rectify the damage.
