Brought my watch in for a battery replacement. They didn't check the water resistance after closing the watch back up again (which is standard routine after replacing the battery in water resistant watches by every decent watch specialist I have ever been to), and told me if I wanted it done I had to agree to a complete renewal of the seal for another 75 pounds. That's not the kind of "service" I expected... Re your below response: A water resistance test after (and usually also before) having opened up a water resistant watch is not a "premium service", but just common sense. Simply to see if the seals are still working and the watch has been closed up properly, which is why it's routinely done, including in Switzerland (I'm assuming they know how to service their own watches). The seals are normally good for years. Not doing a water resistance check after a battery replacement, and only offering it with a full replacement of all seals basically means compelling the customer to PAY a premium by only offering a standard and routine service as a package with one that in most cases will be unnecessary
