Super cosy cafe with hearty food. The staff are very friendly and the place is clean and nice. I had the banana bread for brunch and it was delicious! We also had egg royal and it was super tasty! Loved their coffee too!

Card machine not working apparently during a pandemic - they chose not to even try to take a card payment from me before order going to kitchen. I was calm and normally behaved and didn’t raise my voice when requesting either. I can only assume it was my Middle Eastern appearance that attempt at service refused. Or maybe their wireless infrastructure suffers for them being a basement cafe. Either cause can be rectified by better communication and attention to detail- neither which were on display - for an eager, polite customer & local resident!

Been a few times recently and I intend to come back again. Lovely atmosphere, delicious food, and the BEST brownies I’ve had so far. Thoroughly recommend a visit!!

Tasty salad, nice place and nice staff. Sandwich was reasonable but the Cajun chicken wasn’t very Cajun-y. I wasn’t told the hot chocolate needed a stir so it was just hot milk until I stirred the lump of chocolate in and even then it was only a bit chocolatey.

I thought this place was superb, the staff were really friendly, we visited 3 time, twice in one day and the other on our last day in Edinburgh, they remembered us from a couple of days ago, wouldn't have expected that. I can honestly say this was the best coffee I've ever had, it was so nice. The food was amazing, nothing to fault at all here! Its a little way out of the centre (not far) but well worth the visit!
