If I were judging based on the pre-shipment experience alone, this company would get 5 stars. Once things were in transit, it got a little bumpy, but the major problem and reason I've rated them poorly is that they damaged an item in transit and have not replied to any messages since. I filled out their insurance forms and paid to insure my items. The item that was damaged was a bike. I had it packed professionally at my local bike shop. It was clearly labeled as a bike, including arrows and text indicating that it should not be turned on its side. It arrived wrong way up and with visible damage to the box. I took photos. When I unpacked it, it became clear there was damage. I emailed right away to ask how they would like me to proceed. No answer. So, not being keen on having a broken bike in my living room, I shopped around and found a bike shop with good prices and solid ratings and went ahead and took the bike in. They discovered the bike was unsafe to ride, and quickly fixed it. When the bike was turned the wrong way up, the brake cables and front end of the bike were damaged. They replaced the necessary items well within the amount covered by insurance. I emailed Meadows again, this time with the receipt. No answer. I've since followed up. No answer. The quick communication from before I paid them is gone. I'm bummed about this since they came recommended by a company I liked. Again, the beginning of the process went really well. Super helpful, clear instructions, quick turnaround. I was excited to work with them. But not replying now is really taking the shine off those earlier interactions. I'm not sure why I bothered with insurance if they weren't planning to honor that part of the contract.
